About Steph

Stephanie Thelen was born in 1989 and raised in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. She recently graduated from Kent State University, December 2016, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and currently resides in Kent, Ohio. In the past nine years at Kent, Stephanie developed her skills of painting and drawing. She was also interested in photography and discovered an enjoyment in shooting weddings, engagements, and other celebratory events. Stephanie has integrated her photography into her drawing and painting with transfer processes. She works on wood canvas where she layers with spray paint, acrylic, ink and her photos. Stephanie repeats images of broken glass and wire with biomorphic patterns. This process results in paintings that have a dream-like landscape quality.
